6 Chansons pour l’été

Have you started introducing your Summer songs yet? June is all about summer in my classroom! Here are a few of my favourite French songs to get you started!

  1. C’est l’été. You can never go wrong with MiniTFO and this catchy tune is no different!

2. Quand c’est l’été! is another song from Mini TFO. I find the vocabulary so clear and simple that my early learners really get a lot of vocabulary out of this one! For older students, you could have them write as many words that they recognise on a white board. If you are brave you could also hand out some kazoos for your students to join in!

3. Chanson pour les vacances (C’est l’Été) by Math&Léo is a song I just recently discovered. They are on their way to Marseille for vacation. This song could lead into discussions about where Marseille is. The chorus is catchy and highlights the words chaud and beau which is a great connection or review of the different ways to form the sound “o”.

4. C’est l’Été by Les Patapons has some wonderful images and is full of activities that children can participate in during the Summer months.

5. Les vacances d’été by Monde de Titounis is a cute little comptine for younger students. It has a fun little rap part in the middle of the song!

6. La fourmi m’a piqué la main is a cute little action song to introduce a variety of insects. It is also great for reviewing the parts of the body.

Happy singing!
