10 chansons pour le printemps

8 chansons pour le printemps

It is always amazing to me how quickly Spring like weather starts to appear! March brings with it warmer days and winter melt coupled with sudden bursts of deep freeze and snow! Here in Ontario we get a lot of days with multiple seasons!

8 Songs to celebrate Spring in the French Classroom

However I am ready for Winter to be over and have prepared a list of some of my favourite French Spring songs!!

  1. Mini TFO is handsdown one of my favourite groups and I use a lot of their material all year long! This song talks about all the beautiful colours of Spring!

2. Les Amis de Boubi have this fun action song to the tune of Jingle Bells! It goes through all four seasons, outlining the changes that each one brings. But, it always comes back Spring!

3. Minidisco has this fantastic song all about the signs that students can identify that Spring is arriving! From the leaves sprouting, chickens laying eggs and the arrival of sunnier days, your students will have fun recognising the signs of Spring with this fun song!

4. Henri Dès is a Swiss French-language children’s singer and songwriter. His style is really engaging and lighthearted!

5. Matt Maxwell is a popular Canadian artist. This song also introduces the vocabulary students will need to describe the changes that happen as Spring arrives.

RAINY DAY SONGS

6. Charlotte Diamond is another fantastic French children’s artist! Aujourd’hui il pleut is one of my favourites and students enjoy it too!

7. Here is another song by Henri Dès all about the rain.

8. Mini TFO has this cute song with them dancing in the rain! Great song for working on the sound “eu” as well! Il pleut and les cheveux are some of the key vocabulary words!
